A Flapper's~ Garbo Jacket

I'm an absolute devotee of the great movie star Greta Garbo~ She's so iconic for her fabulous style and movement of the "Flapper" look in the late 20's and early 30's.
This Fox trimmed Evening Jacket was a piece that happened to come into my work one day, and found out that a customer was wanting to sell it. I looked at the cut and style of this jacket and immediately thought of Garbo. So now this little jacket has a new home, and is now a fanastic piece to my collection.

A Flapper's~ New Love

I'm crazing in love with high wasited pants right now. I actually look back to this time last year, and realize that I didn't even own a single pair of pants, I just simply wasn't interested. I didn't feel like my figure looked to sharp in pants. So I took a chance, and now, my tastes have changed, and slacks are all the rage in my wardrobe.

How do you Modern Day Flappers feel about slacks/pants?

A Flapper's~ Early Fall Outfit

I love fall time, and I just can't wait for the trees to change colour and the cooler air to sweep in. I've already been investing in some vintage wool coats and furs for the winter season, since now is the time to buy, with certain pieces being very well discounted.
Here I've invested some good hard earned money into a perfect classic black wool coat with double buttons. I happened to have found it on etsy for half off it's asking price~
Hey you know us Modern Day Flappers are always on a budget.
But I also have been in love with Mink Stoles, and how big of a statement they make on the shoulders of a Flapper. So I had been looking around on e-bay, and came arcoss this fantastic 1930's 4 pelt mink stole for a well in range asking price. I just could pass these little guys up.
My pencial skirt was a thrift find. It was a bit too big for wearing high wasited so I took in the sides of the skirt to ajust to my shape. I love the one pleated detail over one knee, very early 1930's. The colour is perfect for the Flapper inspired image.
My yellowish ruffle sweater top was also a thrift find, and wearing it with this interesting purple skirt makes this look just pop with the details of the roaring 20's.

A Flapper's~ Classic 1930's Snood Coiffure

So lovely, and yet not seen enough~ the 1930's Snood.

This easy to do hair style was so commonly used by everyday women of the late 1920's and 30's, that it almost goes over looked as a classic way to dress up your hair for your Modern Day Flapper locks.

Snoods are a fantastic way to take your non-styled tresses and instantly have a flapper inspired hair-do, but also keeping your classic style looking clean and fashionable.

I use just normal hair nets you can get at any local beauty/ hair shop. I just style my hair with some back combing to make my mane look full and thick, and then place my hair in the snood, securing  bobby pins on the top of my head, and one on each side of my head, near the back of my ears. Topped off with a classic cocktail hat.

Just a simple classic look.
